The above video tells the story of Jonas, a boy with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), using the iSocial 3D Virtual Learning Environment (3D VLE). The video illustrates how iSocial helps this boy with social deficits engage in social activity and how the system can teach him to be more socially competent for his natural settings of school and home. The screen shots shown in the video are mockups of how iSocial might work to create a place for interaction, facilitate connecting with others and support social interaction. The conversation console shown in the video is a design concept for how a 3D VLE can provide social orthotics to enable positive social experiences for youth with social deficits. The video also shows how agents like Zog can guide and shape behavior and how other co-present individuals, such as teachers and peers, can support social learning even for a youth with ASD.
